This privacy policy applies to the use of the website ("Website") provided by Scribershub GmbH, Hochallee 103, 20149 Hamburg ("scribershub") under the domains scribershub.de/.at/.ch/.com, as well as the business network ("Platform") accessible under these domains, which can only be used after prior registration. Scribershub places great importance on the protection of your personal data. Therefore, with this privacy policy, we would like to inform you about the type, scope, and purpose of the collection of personal data by scribershub, as well as how this data is processed and used

  • 1. Responsible Body
    The responsible body within the meaning of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) for the processing of data collected via the website and/or the platform is generally scribershub. Exceptions are explained in this privacy policy.

  • 2. Collection, processing and use of data
    • 2.1 General
      Information Personal data is defined as "individual details about the personal or factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person (data subject)" (Section 3 Paragraph 1 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)). Examples of personal data include name, email address, or postal address. Use of the website is generally possible without providing personal data. However, if you wish to use the platform as a writer or someone seeking writers, the collection of certain personal data is necessary so that scribershub can provide the services described in the respective Terms and Conditions.

    • 2.2 Automatically Transmitted Usage Data
      Furthermore, your internet browser automatically transmits certain usage data to scribershub each time you use the internet. This includes, in particular, the following information:
      IP address (Internet Protocol address) of the device accessing the website and/or platform;
      internet address of the website from which the website and/or platform was accessed (so-called origin or referrer URL);
      name of the service provider through which access to the website and/or platform is made;
      name of the files or information accessed;
      date, time, and duration of access;
      amount of data transferred;
      operating system and information about the internet browser of the accessing device;
      HTTP status code (e.g., "request successful" or "requested file not found").

      Scribershub stores the aforementioned usage data for security reasons (e.g., to identify attempted attacks) for a maximum of seven days and then deletes it. Usage data that needs to be retained for evidentiary purposes is exempt from deletion until the respective incident has been fully resolved and may be disclosed to law enforcement authorities in individual cases. Otherwise, scribershub stores this usage data exclusively in anonymized form and uses it for statistical analysis to continuously improve the website and platform, adapt it to user interests, and identify and resolve errors more quickly (so-called web analytics; see section 4 for more details).

    • 2.3 Use of Personal Data in Connection with a Platform User Agreement
      We use your data for the conclusion and execution of platform user agreements with writers and writers seeking services, to the extent described in our respective Terms and Conditions (Terms and Conditions for Writers and Writers Seeking Services). For the conclusion of the platform user agreements, we require, in particular, your name, full postal address, email address, and telephone number. Writers must also provide information about their professional background and references. Payment data is also collected from writers seeking services. By submitting personal data of your references as a writer, you expressly warrant that the data subject has expressly consented to the collection, storage, and use of this data by scribershub for the purposes described in the Terms and Conditions for Writers. Insofar as payments from writers seeking services are processed via external payment service providers, the respective payment data is collected and processed by the respective provider under its own responsibility. We only receive confirmation from the respective provider that the payment has been made.

    • 2.4 Publication of your profile data as a writer Once you have registered as a writer and your profile has been activated by scribershub, the following data will be published on the platform:
      Contact details (name, location, email address, telephone number, website, links to other profiles)
      Professional experience
      Language skills
      Profile photo
      Work samples
      References

    • 2.5 Advertising
      We also use the data collected from you in connection with your registration for scribershub, to the extent permitted by law, to keep you informed about scribershub and for our own advertising purposes (including via email). You have the right to object to the use of your data for advertising purposes at any time. To do so, please contact us using one of the channels listed at the end of this privacy policy (see section 12).

    • 2.6 Disclosure of data to third parties

      • 2.6.1 Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties by scribershub if you have expressly consented.

      • 2.6.2 Furthermore, data may be transferred to third parties if we are legally obligated to do so or if required by an enforceable official or court order. In the event of a reasonable suspicion of copyright infringement (in particular, proof of copyright ownership by an alleged victim), we will disclose information about a user's identity to the alleged victim, insofar as we are legally obligated to do so.

      • 2.6.3 We reserve the right to use service providers for the collection and processing of data. Service providers will only receive from us the personal data they need for the specific task. Service providers may also be commissioned to provide server capacity. These service providers are engaged as so-called data processors and may only process the personal data of platform users according to our instructions (except for payment service providers; see section 2.3 above).

  • 3. Cookies
    The website and platform use cookies to make their use as user-friendly as possible and to enable certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device and allow for recognition, but do not identify you personally. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is anonymized by truncation and is not merged with other Google data. The data collected by Google Analytics is not used by us to personally identify you as a user of the website and/or platform, nor is it combined with your personal data. You can disable cookies via your internet browser settings, although this may limit the functionality of the website or platform (see section 3 above).     You have the right to information about the data stored about you, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of the storage at any time. Upon request, we will provide you with information about the stored data free of charge in accordance with applicable law. Furthermore, you can contact us free of charge with any questions regarding the collection, processing, or use of your personal data and its correction, blocking, deletion, or the revocation of any consent you have given. Please note that you have the right to correct inaccurate data or delete your personal data, provided that this does not conflict with any legal retention obligations.     Scribershub takes all necessary technical and organizational measures, in accordance with the state of the art, to protect your personal data from loss, falsification, or unauthorized access. If you wish to contact us by email, please be aware that the confidentiality of the transmitted information cannot be guaranteed. The content of unencrypted emails can, in principle, be subject to interception by unauthorized third parties during transmission. We therefore recommend that you send us confidential information exclusively by postal mail.
